No not everyone...you are just the typical liberal that if someone does not agree with your way of thinking they are a racist, bigot, homophobe, or any other slur that liberals cast down upon them that do not agree with you...

Biological fathers are often not in the birth certificate for a variety of reasons. For instance, a sperm donor doesn't go on the birth certificate.

And I imagine that, unless parental rights are stripped by the state (in examples of gross negligence, for example), I imagine a parent could still sue and point to the birth certificate.
I know that in Arkansas that if you even acted as the child's parent for any amount of time, they can and will go after you for child support if the relationship breaks up, even if you weren't a biological parent or listed on the BC, unless you're a woman in which case they won't go after child support at all.
I actually look forward to seeing lesbians suing other lesbians for child support, should be funny stuff.

However, if either of them presents facts to the contrary, the actual semen-donor ought to be on the paper.
That doesn't really happen, especially in Louisiana. From a legal standpoint, a male who fathers a child won't be on the BC if he and the mother agree not to put him on there.
Honestly, I'm not the right person to answer this. I've never really practiced family law. I just remember a bunch of this stuff from the Bar Exam. But I do know that it's not uncommon for biological fathers to left of the BC.

Which makes one ask the logical question. What's the point of the birth certificate? I thought it was to keep a birth record?

I applaude this decision. I have always identified as Bill Gates Jr, even though he was not my biological father. Now, after I go change my birth certificate, he will owe me the millions that I deserve.

yeah i found it after some googling.
quote:
"Many people will rejoice at this decision, and I begrudge none their celebration. But for those who believe in a government of laws, not of men, the majority’s approach is deeply disheartening. ... Five lawyers have closed the debate and enacted their own vision of marriage as a matter of constitutional law. Stealing this issue from the people will for many cast a cloud over same-sex marriage, making a dramatic social change that much more difficult to accept." "If you are among the many Americans – of whatever sexual orientation – who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it."

In the very near future, that would be a 5-4 decision.
And poor Ginsburg.....

His point was requiring biological parents be listed on birth certificate is not disparate impact and has rational basis.
But it's not important to know who the parents legally are. What's important Is to formally document who loves them the most.

LOL I've read enough of your "thoughts" to know that I would feel more than comfortable challenging you in a debate on any topic at any time.

According to my S.F. friends, male/male parents tend to be completely fricking clueless. I'm really not sure how I feel about this.

Based on my experiences, most parents in general are clueless.

Gorsuch based his ruling on biology.
That goes against EVERYTHING that identity politics stand for. They ignore biology completely. It's not what science proves, its what people want or feel. That's what's important to them.

Guess who is listed on the current birth certificate of adopted children of heterosexual parents? The adoptive parents. And when there is a surrogate parent, that surrogate biological parent is not listed on the birth certificate. His logic is flawed . This only confirms his bigotry

It records the birth but also establishes legal paternity/maternity.
In the cases of surrogate mothers, the adoptive parents go on the birth certificate, not the surrogate mother.
