Unanimous, 8-0. Haven't found out yet who didn't vote.
Excellent decision in favor of free speech!

Gorsuch wouldn't have voted since he wasn't there for the argument

This puts me at ease. The "hate speech" rhetoric from far left college campus like Evergreen really puts me on edge about the future of the 1st amendment. I'm glad to see this hasn't taken root within the liberal justices.

The Slants is not the most offensive rock band name. Do any of you folks remember The Dead Kennedys?

The story is hilarious.

It was a band made up of Asians called The Slants, or something, who were being called racist against Asians.

Progressive circular thought is hilarious.

I wonder if the NCAA will have to relent with the Indian names thing on jerseys.

Sure. There is a version of the Dead Kennedys touring now.

They better not play Holiday in Cambodia near any college or the children will get triggered and scramble for a safe space.

It's definitely the correct ruling, though it still doesn't make it a smart business move to keep all mascots. Or moral. Though I am not offended by any mascot that I know of and certainly wouldn't be changing the Redskins if I were Dan Snyder.

That's a great decision but I fear that it will only make it safe for trademarking names. Liberal institutions that allow membership may still try to punish those members who do not play by their insane rules regarding acceptable names.

Oh, how Merrick Garland wishes he could have been that elusive 9th vote.
