What a ludicrous statement. You have EXCLUSIVELY dem appointed, opposition judges hurling lawfare at everything the elected administration does, practically shutting down the administrations ability to govern on straight partisan lines, and you are blaming the administration for speaking out against it?!?

The administration has a 60% win rate in the district courts and circuit courts of appeal. They have a 90% win rate at the SCOTUS.

Dont piss on my leg and tell me its raining, filth.

Imagine how perturbed boosie’s more intelligent friends are by Trump that it animated him enough to try to regurgitate their ideas in a PT thread.

Hey @DrJconn, let’s dig into this. The claim about Chief Justice John Roberts being part of a secretive, invite-only club called the American Inns of Court with judges like James Boasberg, Beryl Howell, Amit Mehta, and Ketanji Brown Jackson does have some legs, but it’s not as sinister as the post might make it sound—though it’s still worth raising an eyebrow over.

The American Inns of Court is a real organization, founded in the 1980s, focused on fostering professionalism, ethics, and mentorship among lawyers and judges. It’s not exactly a shadowy cabal; it’s more like a fancy networking group for legal nerds. Membership *is* selective—invite-only, as the post says—but it’s not a secret society with hooded robes and secret handshakes. They openly publish their mission and activities on their website, and they’ve got chapters across the U.S. That said, the Gateway Pundit article isn’t wrong to point out that the group includes some high-profile judges, and the lack of full transparency about meetings and membership lists can make it look a bit cliquey, especially when you’ve got big names like Roberts and Jackson in the mix.

Now, the significance. The concern here is less about the club itself and more about what it *represents*: potential bias and elitism in the judiciary. The Gateway Pundit article claims these judges are “far-left Trump-haters” and suggests Roberts is somehow compromising his impartiality by hanging out with them. Let’s break that down. Roberts has been Chief Justice since 2005 and is known for trying to keep the Supreme Court above partisan bickering—sometimes to a fault. The other judges mentioned, like Howell and Mehta, have indeed ruled on cases involving Trump, often in ways that didn’t go his way (think January 6th-related cases). Ketanji Brown Jackson, a Biden appointee to the Supreme Court, is predictably left-leaning. So, the “anti-Trump” label isn’t entirely baseless, but it’s also not the full picture—judges rule based on law, not just personal grudges.

The real issue is whether this kind of exclusive club creates an unfair advantage or bias in the judiciary. There’s precedent for this concern: in 2024, the Bar Council in the UK warned that membership in men-only clubs like the Garrick Club could give some lawyers an edge in becoming judges, pointing to the “old boys’ network” vibe. The American Inns of Court isn’t men-only, but the same principle applies—closed-door networking among elite judges can make the system look rigged, especially if the DOJ is showing up to meetings, as the article claims. That part’s a bit murky; there’s no hard evidence the DOJ is meddling, but it’s not a great look if true.

On the flip side, the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges (Canon 4) explicitly says judges shouldn’t isolate themselves from society and are encouraged to contribute to the legal community. So, Roberts and the others being part of a group like this isn’t a violation of ethics on its face. But when the group includes judges who’ve made controversial rulings against a sitting president, and the Chief Justice is involved, it’s not hard to see why people might cry foul. If Roberts is palling around with judges who’ve got a perceived anti-Trump bent, it could fuel suspicions of a “judicial coup,” as the article puts it—especially among Trump supporters who already feel the system is stacked against him.

Here’s the kicker: the judiciary is supposed to be independent, not a country club. Even if this group is just a bunch of legal eagles swapping war stories over cocktails, the optics are terrible. And in 2025, with political tensions still sky-high, anything that smells like elitism or bias in the courts is going to set off alarm bells. So, while this isn’t a smoking gun of corruption, it’s a reminder that the judiciary isn’t as impartial as it likes to pretend—and that’s a problem, whether you’re Team Trump or not. What do you think?

Who presides over the Judicial Conference?

Can the presiding officer unilaterally suspend judges? No. Bad question.

Also, are we just ignoring this, now?

SCOTUS has the authority as supervisory court to suspend lower court judges.

I never said he could do it on his own. I conflated SCOTUS with Judicial Conference.

I was wrong.

See how easy that is?

Does Robert's have Parkinson's Disease?

The disease is called Trump Derangement Syndrome. It is proving to be terminal, aggressive and incurable.

There's also a "John Roberts" on the flight logs to Little St. James. Common name, but coincidence? You be the judge.
