That’s a lot of white stuff. Are we sure this isn’t racist?

Other things would need to be done such as digging extremely large canals to channel water melting from the North Pole south towards the more arid areas of the planet.

hmm - er - ah - um

let me check my globe to digest that.

Wish they'd dump some of that shite on Oklahoma. It's hot as hell here.

I think it's a great idea! Make it hard for those lizard people to crawl out!

Sounds like something a crab people supporter would say.

I see it. The ice sheets advance and retreat. They have done this since forever. So on its face this idea seems absurd. Why would we try to stabilize the ice sheet to prevent sea level rise? The sea level is always rising. The reason is because a clever-enough person could potentially stabilize all of that and geo-engineer weather to our liking. For everyone, everywhere. Think Back to the Future 2 when Doc Brown tells Marty that the rain is going to stop in 5 seconds. Well, that's possible and stabilizing the poles seems like a reasonable place to start. JMO ETA: This would have to be just one step in a larger plan though. Other things would need to be done such as digging extremely large canals to channel water melting from the North Pole south towards the more arid areas of the planet. Massive public works projects.

Why do people think we should use Man Made weather to fight the processes of nature?
The same people who blame humans for what happens to Mother Nature want to use human actions to change Mother Nature.

Don’t forget the 50.

Wasn't there a proposal in the 70s to dump ash in Antarctica to melt snow to prevent an ice age?

Yes.
These people are insane.

Well, crab people are easier to handle, all you need is a Tony Chachere's spice blaster and they will run like hell.

I need to crack my ol' engineering books, but doesn't one of the Laws of Thermodynamics state that, basically, the inefficiencies of such a process would mean the heat and byproducts used to make, transport and deploy all the artificial snow, would outweigh the thermal benefits?

(i.e. no such thing as a perpetual engine)
