A school has dropped Winston Churchill and JK Rowling as house names after students said they did not think they represented them.
Stunned parents with children at Seaford Head School in East Sussex received the letter this week slamming both famous figures.
The note - which was marked as being from students - said wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill was 'a figure who promoted racism and inequality, unfairly imprisoning and torturing many'.

Westminster Abbey has been the center of British historical continuity regarding the state and religion for 1000 years. Famous Britons’ remains (regents, nobility, poets and authors, explorers, military heroes, philosophers and many others) are memorialized there. You see a thousand years of history in ornate and beautiful imagery while attending services or participating in a tour. As you exit the church, simply inscribed in the flagstones at your feet at the rear door is this: “Remember Winston Churchill”. It is there for a reason.
