Diesel is up in large because Europe outsourced refining to Russia around 20 years ago. They outsourced carbon emissions to fight climate change. Russia isn't exporting any diesel this summer. Phillips even cancelled an expansion in Germany of it 220,000 BPD refinery (now closed) and its brand new unused hydrocracker reactors were delivered to its Lake Charles refinery a decade ago instead of Germahy. Made in Italy and for sale for several years now.
China hasn't been exporting for several months now
Not that we are exporting that much more but refiners can get more money overseas for gasoline and diesel.
The good news for US consumers is that it takes months to get onboard as a buyer from refiners. All sorts of legal documents to submit and boxes checked off by their legal departments.

Europe made fatal mistakes in the fuel futures by thinking diesel is the best option then killed their capacity to supply. As most oil products are a commodity they get bid up as needs arise, down when demand lessens. Europe is the cause for most of these issues. They house the Mideast money, destroying themselves by outsourcing supplies. The underwriters of the shipping industry comes from their financial houses so that gets abused easily enough. Now they are being transformed into the Western Mideast they won’t need much additional help soon enough as they will just try and stay alive day to day

As far as we know, the pipeline was not affected (though, the Saudi's shutdown the pipeline after the attack, as an act of prevention)... the above ground pumping stations were. There is a distinction between the two.

There was a thread started a few days ago.
It was immediately trashed by the usual suspects questioning the source and possible fake news because only things we like can happen in this war.
After that, they pivoted to upvoting a thread stating TC endorsed a radical Islamist which turned out be fake news.

And pumping stations are easily repaired and easily hardened against drones. This isn’t a big deal, except in the short term. They better pay well for ballistic missile defense, though, because those are impractical to harden against.

But yes, this “influencer” either doesn’t know the difference, or is being intentional in disregarding it.

So where did all of the black smoke come from that could be seen by satellites? Pumping station?

Oil price actually fell a few hours after it became clear this wasnt that big a deal

something hit a pumping station - a drone allegedly
what I found weird about the story is the station that was hit is near Medina KSA on the western side of the country. That is a long way for the Iranians to fly a drone undetected

Doesn’t look this affected the December Brent contracts that much. Reads as temporary.

I laughed over the weekend, when Iran's propaganda lashed out calling out 'terrorists' for hitting one of their tankers.
I understand it's a viewpoint, but 'terrorist' muddies the waters. As far as I know, only one real terrorist organization/ state has launched offensives against their neighbor states, often civilians, etc.
This pipeline is a perfect example.
In fact, after the last attacks against our Navy vessels, our 2-3 to 1 response probably will only have them continue soft targets.

No one on here wants to talk about it.
The Trump can do no wrong crowd doesnt want to discuss it because its more evidence of how much trouble we're in over there with no exit in sight.
The "dont do this!" crowd has already said everything that can be said about it and is sick watching the MAGA platform, 2024 coalition and GOP congressional majority implode in front of our eyes while the DNC goes full communist.
Its a potential strategic disaster far beyond anything Vietnam ever was outside of the needless sacrifice of so many American lives.
