So what’s to prevent restraunt owners from denying service to black people or gays on the basis of being a democrat?
According to you, all it would take to avoid prosecution would be to have a picture of them serving Herman Cain and Milo.
Furthermore, I would argue many today hold their political beliefs in higher regard and more personally than their religious ones. It’s a messed up situation, but there is evidence for it.

And one does not need to know whether someone is democrat or republican to make judgments about their politics
If someone wears a Black Lives Matter shirt they are showing support for a political movement. Political movements don't necessarily have to have any official party endorsement.
