Yeah, I agree... there is sound Biblical principle in being good stewards- taking it further than that is damaging to the Pope's credibility.

This is a more important and more official public statement by the Pope. He exhorts all of us to be more Christ-like when it comes to helping others.

We spend so much time talking about the Pope here. Most of it seems like bashing to me.
Take a moment of your own time and reflect on this: for every time that you have come on Political Talk, which should really be called Religion Talk, have you taken a moment to be more Christ-like and, if so, what exact thing did you do to be more Christ-like?
Bashing the Pope may be fun for you but it won't get you to Heaven. Bashing the Pope may seem like preaching the Gospel to someone but it really isn't.

No, He won't. This rock is cursed ground that belongs to Satan.
What GOD is going to ask us, is if we worshipped and loved Him above all else, and followed his finite set of laws and commandments... not if we gave up our own individual liberties to take care of Muslims who want to kill us, and not if we poured more money into windmills instead of the offering plate.

Yes, I agree with this.

Maybe the Pope should concern himself with spiritual things and be above reproach.
Taking a moral stance on fuzzy science when preaching good stewardship would have done much better is a bad call. Period.

The Pope also exhorts us to be more Christ-like. What have YOU done in your life to be more Christ like and to help others less fortunate than you?

I agree. The Pope should stay away from politically-charged language and events. I think he should act as a Spiritual Leader working for Christ. He should avoid anything that might resemble advocation of Leftist politics.
Pope should realize that the Left hates him and will hate him until Pope advocates Abortion and Gay/Boy Love. Pope should avoid alienating his political allies on the Christian Right.
But, he won't. Popes apparently will continue to politically alienate half of the America people by politically aligning with the Left - the very Left that hates the Pope.
I guess the Pope is working to be universally hated by both Right and Left!

This is happening a lot in "climate science" community and most of the people in that community I believe are unaware their morality is being manipulated.
Very true. I think most leftists fall into this category. I don't think they are all bad people. They are just being manipulated.
I hate that the pope is going down this path. It almost seems like pandering rather than preaching.

and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves
The pope is deceived at best and a Marxist at worst.
“I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking twisted things to draw away the disciples after them.”
Acts of the Apostles

Then you should understand why people take issue when the Pope does these things. I'm not Catholic nor am I a Catholic basher- and it isn't bashing when people rightfully give the Pope side-eye for doing these things.

At the end of the day, Pope should stick to tying behavior back to seven deadly sins particularly sloth and greed where it comes to “climate change”. We can make the argument that many people over indulge in their use of energy bc it makes them feel good. Conversely, there are lots of people looking to make money off of the climate change narrative or get power from climate change.
Pope should just say people should not be wasteful or over indulgent with their use of anything (energy included). Conversely Pope should condemn people making $ off of climate change or worse trying to usurp power by using “climate change” narrative.

Your headline really overstates his comments.
The good news is the Pope has opinions and those opinions don’t impact Catholics. We don’t have to hang on every word or every interview.
If the Pope speaks within the very limited infallibility granted to the successor of Peter to bind and loose, sure let’s get worked up.
Y'all drive yourselves crazy.
I know what you are saying, but...
He's done it very publicly at least three times in the past two weeks.

Does the Pope wish a return to the Little Ice Age and the misery it caused in Europe?
Posted on 10/10/25 at 9:44 am to loogaroo
The Pope, like the leftist politicians who lament over this topic, generates more carbon emissions in a month than I do in 5 years. Perhaps he needs to look at himself an the Vatican.
