Russian aircraft have zoomed over a US airbase in Syria more than 25 times this month, violating a 2019 agreement between the US and Russia over the use of Syrian airspace in areas where each country has military outposts.

quote:

They're regularly flying directly overhead of our units, and I've defined directly overhead, as within about a mile, no more than a mile offset one side or the other, while we've got forces right there on the ground," Grynkewich told NBC News. "So it's an uncomfortable situation."

This is what happens when the US is weak. Does anyone think this his acceptable?

So their reaction is to bitch about it in the media? Further looks weak.

What happened to speak quietly but carry a big stick?

quote:

it's not the kind of behavior that I'd expect out of a professional Air Force," Grynkewich added.

Oooh. Insult them! I’m waiting for a “it’s not fair!!!”

quote:

The Russians have over the last several months seemed to abandon that tenet of the protocols," Grynkewich added.

Yep. That’s what happens when you’re weak. They take out your drone ( and you do nothing) so of course they DGAF about your “boundaries”.

Business Insider

But hey. DEI and pronouns.

The last time Russia fricked around with us in Syria, they found out. Probably time to remind them of that.

They can’t even do that if they can’t protect the airspace above them.

You missed the point. It’s not about whether or not we should be there.

It’s about what’s changed.

If we had any (real) nuts we would have a spooky gunship circle their closest base in Syria at a 1 mile ring for a few hours flanked by two F-22s.

Choot em! The world doesn't respect the US. Biden is a joke and a coward, world leaders are treating him as such.

I think this.

quote:

US opened a deconfliction phone line with the Russians to ease tensions, and over calls with the US, Russian military personnel have said they don't recognize the US base or airspace.

Ding ding ding!!! We have a winner!

We went from “get too close!” and brrrrrrt!

…..to getting buzzed directly overhead without consequence.

First, Biden was weak and afraid of Putin.

Then he led the movement to support Ukraine and boycott Russia.

Then he ordered the bombing of the Russian pipeline.

So he became a war monger.

And now he's weak again?
Make up your mind already.

Sadly, these two things aren't mutually exclusive.

That we have an airbase in Syria? No, I don't think that's acceptable. I guess we're still supporting our ISIS allies against the Syrian government.

Idk why, but I got a chuckle out of "well, they aren't actually flying over our heads, but it still makes us nervous"

Yes.

No. He’s not a war monger. He supports expanding globalism and US influence. That’s why he’s fighting Russia passively through Ukraine.

Its not a sign of strength. It’s what weak countries do.
