You know, I agree with the critisism of the Biden administration and it's forcing a woke agenda on the military. That said, it pisses me off how quickly many people in this forum result to insulting the men and women in uniform serving so you can shitpost on a message board.
While there are a few trans people in the military, 99.99999999% of the military is made up of our kids. frick you for insulting them. Thats why many people think some of you are just paid Russian troll farmers, there is no way you can be an American and disparage our troops the way you do simply because you don't like Biden. Again frick you. Stop insulting our troops.

Why do we need anyone based in Syria? I’m scratching my head and can find no valid, beneficial reason to have a military base there.

Agree 100 %. My son ships out on April 9 for 22 weeks of training at Fort Benning to become an infantryman. And I’m damn proud of him.

I don't know why we have it either. The only two possible explanations I can see are:
1) We made an agreement with the Kurds to have it there
2) We have an airbase in one of our regional adversaries yards and they can't do anything to make us give it up. It is worth having simply for the possible future need.
Other than those two reasons, I don't see why.

I believe the Afghanistan withdrawal was the single biggest catalyst for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Putin saw how weak we looked and decided to test Biden. Unfortunately, he under estimated our response, and now here we are.
