True or not, Putin is getting the credit for it and the people are getting the effects of it.

Why? Because Biden needed this "war"

quote:

As the entire world edges toward a period of serious food instability, Russian armed forces have been actively targetting wheat stocks in Ukraine for destruction, an EU official has claimed.

Russian military assets have been actively targeting and destroying stocks of wheat in Ukraine — one of the world’s largest producers of grains — during a period when the world needs it most, an EU official has claimed.

Josep Borrell, the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Tsar, made the claim shortly after a meeting of foreign ministers from across the bloc partially aimed at implementing even more sanctions against Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

According to a report by Euronews, Borrell said that the Russian forces had not only been blockading Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea, preventing food exports from the invaded country, which is responsible for a vast amount of the world’s wheat supply, but are also going so far as to actively target and destroy stockpiles of the much-needed resource.

“They are bombing Ukrainian cities and provoking hunger in the world,” Borrell is reported as saying.

“They are provoking hunger in the world by blocking the exports of wheat and by destroying the storage of wheat in Ukraine,” the foreign affairs chief continued.

I was wondering where Russian had gotten off to.

When he returns from his forays, hopefully he'll rejoin the board.

Serious question…:

When did we stop being the bread basket of the world?

Bread, cereal or booze shortage. Gotta admire a man who has his priorities straight.

Not surprised scum like yourself would be a Putin apologist who would celebrate if Putin was able to create global food shortages.

I feel sorry for people like you

No surprise. Putin longingly admires the Soviet days. Now he gets to act like Stalin.

Biden's done a great job on this by himself. Biden put Putin in a place to be able to do it.

It’s fricked up (if it’s true) but this is war. You play for keeps. I’m don’t understand why the West expects a situation like this to be civil other than for propaganda purposes. They feign outrage at stuff like this in my estimation. Meanwhile we abandoned Afghanistan and left those people to a famine while freezing Taliban accounts that could be used to purchase food and there hasn’t been a peep from the media for months. I guess some people are better victims than others.

China passed us in production decades ago. We still produce more than double the wheat that Ukraine does.

Ukraine has very fertile , arable land (second most in Europe by land area) and export lots of wheat and barley around the globe.
