Talked with a couple folks today who found out this morning their businesses didn't get PPP money.

They're forced to pay a lot of employees who qualify under both the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency FMLA Expansion Act, but just don't have the revenue or cash flow now to do that.

What a disaster for these businesses. I don't see how they'll do it without closing up shop. How far reaching is this really going to get?

This was predictable and a prolonged shutdown will make this infinitely worse. Government is killing small businesses and these governors simply don't give a shite.

Small business owners better remember this when their governor is up for election.

And when it's time to face the voters, they--with the help of the MSM--with pin the blame on the federal government (Trump).

Never depend on the government. Never.

I posted this yesterday, but I'll post it again. The "essential" businesses in our city have had record months. They are killing it right now because there is no where else to go. Amazon is having to limit orders on the website as they have been overwhelmed.

The small business loan thing helped some types of businesses, but not others.

Second time this has happened in a little over a decade.

The Obama administration used the GM bankruptcy to frick over dealerships which weren’t donors to their campaign which had a downstream effect of fricking over a ton of small towns and small businesses which interacted with them.

If my math is right that works out to average $230,625 per business which received funds.

We got ours and the process was a breeze. Was deposited with days of paperwork finalized.

While I think it is a shame they are out of money, I also fully believe there is a lot of dis-information being spread.

NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business), in past years their members tend to vote GOP over 90%.

That was a royal frickjob. Had some family friends who had three dealerships pulled from them by GM. They considered a lawsuit after they found out that about 80% of the people who lost dealerships were registered Republicans. Also found out that the folks that had all of their dealerships pulled were almost uniformly Republicans.

GM gave them a larger payout after the threat of the suit. Especially since they were a dealership is the top 1% for Buick, top 2% for Pontiac and and the #1 GMC truck dealer in the region. Made zero sense for GM to walk away from them, other than clear political reasons. GM practically admitted as much.

If Americans, including lots of small business owners hadn’t given control of the House to the Dems in 2018, there would be plenty of money for small businesses now!

A Republican is winning the next election anyway

But The Kennedy Center got $25 million, so the important things are taken care of.
