@GovRonDeSantis

Biden’s Border Crisis is a catastrophe.

While Washington abdicates its responsibility to secure our border, Florida is once again stepping up.

Today, I signed legislation to combat illegal immigration and to deter illegal immigrants from coming to Florida.

LINK

quote:

1. Mandates E-Verify for public and private employers:

Employers who fail to use E-Verify will be fined $1,000 per day until they comply with the law.

Penalties for employing illegal aliens include license suspension and even revocation for repeat offenders.

quote:

2. Enhances criminal penalties for human smuggling:

Those caught transporting illegal aliens will face 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Those caught transporting 5 or more illegal aliens—or a single unaccompanied minor—will face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

3. Disqualifies out-of-state licenses issued to illegal aliens (Florida does not issue driver licenses to illegal aliens)

4. Prohibits county governments and NGOs in Florida from using taxpayer dollars to supply "community IDs" for illegal aliens

5. Makes it a felony for an illegal alien to use a fake ID to obtain employment in Florida

6. Charges hospitals to collect and submit data to understand how much the Biden Border Crisis is costing Floridians

quote:

“People are going to come if they get benefits,” DeSantis said. “You are either here as a native or come here legally, both fine things, but to come across the border and end up getting benefits in Florida does not make sense.”

DeSantis is clearly a good governor who racks up wins all the time. This was universally agreed upon 6 months ago.

Since it's clear Joe Biden is a influence peddling machine, I wonder how much the Cartels are paying him to open our southern border?

Boo on this! E-Verify is a terrible thing and we should not give this power to government.

E-Verify is a loss dude. And you know I prefer DeSantis over Trump. We have to hold these guys accountable and this is not good.

Imagine that. I'm calling out DeSantis for a bad policy and you aren't. Weird.

Whata your solution to vetting legal status? Come up with a better system, that's fine.

Nothing is worth giving this power to the government. Nothing. You give government a kill switch on employment with such a thing. This is the gateway that leads to digital passports. It's not good.

I like the DL rules. Other southern states need to do that and stop giving out DLs and state IDs like candy.

BDR is BIG Govt

This is a big government move for sure.

Thomas Massie on E-verify:

"I will NOT vote to require EVERY American to get [President Joe] Biden's permission if they want to work," Massie continued. "Giving the federal government more power over YOU is a mistake."

"National E-verify bill contains vague references to two pilot programs of non-photographic technology you must use to prove your identity to DHS in order to get a job.

What is it? Fingerprints? DNA? Retina? Why not just say it in the bill? Is E-Verify actually Patriot Act 2.0?"

Amash on E-verify:

Though it's "being sold to you as a security measure," former Rep. Justin Amash (L–Mich.) argued, "E-Verify is laying the foundation for national biometric databases, [central bank digital currencies], and a social credit system, giving the state almost absolute power over your life."
