I think this is sad that it has to even be said. I'm glad he said it, but still- very sad.
When you as a law abiding citizen needs permission from the government to flee, not fight - flee, for your safety you are not a citizen but a subject.
This is not a knock on DeSantis... it is a knock on "the law". If you feel the government is going to probably punish you for fleeing a life threatening situation (while not committing a crime yourself) "the law" that is supposed to protect you is now a weapon of subjugation.
