And this idiot is why we don't have a fiscally conservative party today.
I don't think you understand. I support fiscal conservatism, but I don't think that's the most important issue in our country today. The left has been destroying our country through moral decay, and have been indoctrinating children into a worldview that doesn't even have a care about economics or taxes. We need to be fighting a moral battle, because that's what the left is doing right now.

The left have been waging a moral war and winning because the conservatives are too afraid to push back out of fear of being called racists, sexist, homophobic, etc. The left has run on moralism: woke culture is a moral issue; trans rights are a moral issue; abortion is a moral issue. It goes on. They aren't just saying that they prefer these things: they are saying you are immoral if you don't side with them on these issues.

I’m a conservative Christian, and believe that what was written almost 2 millennia ago was the word of God. I believe that religion, all religion is a construct of man, and has therefore been made evil and corrupt.

I carry a deep and abiding faith in God and His Son Jesus. I do my best to adhere to the parts of the Bible that my tiny brain can comprehend.

No disagreement but nothing stopping me from calling them a freak and telling them to F off. Let them know their kind just won't be catered to any longer and mean it. That gets the message across nicely. No need to bring religion into it. That muddies the waters. The worst things Reagan did was close the mental asylums. That's where these freaks of nature belong.

And then you have Christians who have pretty much replaced God with Jesus.

quote:

I believe in God

It’s pretty obvious that you simply believe in the existence of God, but reject the sacrifice of his one and only begotten son.

If you were to die right now, you have no sacrifice to atone for your sins and you would go to hell.

Sin cannot go unpunished, so you either need a savior to blot out your sins, or you will have to pay for them for an eternity separated from God.

What does religious mean? There is Jesus then everything else. I’m not religious. I follow Jesus.

For one, not causing anyone harm, especially in the name of religion

It’s so crazy to me that everyone’s religion or sect of Christianity, each one think theirs is the right way and everyone else is wrong.

And so many Christians living and breathing by the KJV of the Bible. They obviously know nothing about the lifestyle of King James and those who he chose to translate the Bible. Lol

Where'd you get that standard from? Sounds quite arbitrary to me.

This is a universal truth: everyone thinks that what they believe is true. No one actually believes something as true that they actually believe is false. That would be irrational.

Everyone has presuppositions and axioms about the world that govern how they interpret reality. That's true for the atheist as much as it is for the Christian.

I am glad your religious practices work for you. If I fall short in my walk with God, then I guess you can gleefully celebrate my eternal punishment. Thanks for the judgments, I'm sure they were just your way of "helping each other to grow in maturity in the faith"

In. Wasn’t raised with religion. Obviously believe in God, but can’t reconcile innocent people and children suffering. I also can’t jive with churches and all the money and corruption. I just try to be a good human.

Good thing that only happens in Christianity... and every other conceivable aspect of human existence.

Your definition of "harm" is not the same as everyone else's, yet here you are declaring your definition of "good" as though your POV is not just simple, but accurate. It's not. Is it "good" to kill a person if his organs can save eight people's lives? Is it "good" to kill a cow to feed people? Is it "good" to go watch a football game when you could be reading to the blind?

You're fooling yourself into thinking there is a clear definition of "good". And I could ask a billion atheists and get a billion different lines drawn between "good" and "evil".

"Religion" is, according to most, the same word as "law". They both mean "binding." We have laws, and every rational adult agrees we need laws. If people are left to their own personal moral code, we have chaos. If we chose our own laws as individuals, we would be destroyed. When people choose their own morality as individuals, they are destroyed.

It's not a matter of what "works", but what is true, based on God's revelation.

Why would I celebrate such a thing? I want everyone to be saved and don't want any to be damned. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that it's only through Him that any can come to the Father. That's a very narrow path, and it would be cruel of me to let anyone think they are "good" when they aren't (if they aren't).

I'm not trying to judge anyone; only God can judge the souls of men. What I'm trying to do is proclaim the truth.

Even if you don’t believe in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit....live by the ways of the Bible, one should be fine.
