You're making the same argument (with the IEEPA) the Biden admin did with their student loan forgiveness scheme (via the HEROES Act),
As I said, if you want to challenge the Administration's interpretation of "emergency," it might have sound basis. Still arguable, but weaker for Trump. That is also the avenue of comparison with the Biden admin's student loan forgiveness scheme.
Certainly there are few comparators aligning the Biden actions you cite whether tariffs are authorized under an issuance of broad authority to regulate transactional interfaces with other countries.

Tariffs went up in the first administration under Trump as well, and Biden left those largely in place.
Indeed.
Because Democrats love tariffs.
Like MAGA
Congrats on being ideological brothers with antifa.

Positive.
Biden used broad language of the HEROES Act regarding student loans (and emergencies, even) in a similar way you're arguing the Trump admin should be able to use IEEPA and tariffs. It's almost a 1:1 comparison.
For comparison, your comment
quote:
and the text says POTUS may investigate, regulate, or prohibit any transactions in foreign exchange.
The applicable HEROES Act language allowed the Secretary of Education to "waive or modify any statutory or regulatory provision applicable to the student financial assistance programs under the Higher Education Act".
"Waive or modify" is a 'grant of unspecified authority", to use your lanugage.

Trust me, before this is all over the taxpayers will get screwed again. Everything is a tax according to John Roberts. Thanks to John Roberts Obamacare stood, and America was burdened with a disaster.
A disaster that the democrats are now using to keep the government shutdown.
Donald Trump is our last chance to save this country. Already the democrats have thrown their support for the muslim communist. I don't expect any resolution to the government shutdown. These commies smell blood.
President Trump is right about...........everything.

So why would anyone listen to what they have to say
Ok. One has already been exposed in this thread.
Since the democrats are on board for revoking tariffs, thus decreasing revenues, should they surrender their demands for trillions more in spending and sign their own Biden era CR to reopen the government??
Yay or nay?

This statement lacks context… when in the previous 80 years have tariffs impacted the average American consumer as much as the ones Trump have imposed
This is why your argument is dog shite. You’re essentially saying it’s ok if tariffs affect the American consumer a little bit, but just not this much. Who is the judge of how much it affects the consumer to where we can say it’s ok or not ok. frick Off!

And the pelosi deemed the bill passed. Now, it is a procedural move, but come on. There was completely different language than the bill the house originally passed.

This isn't about Trump being picked on. This is about Trump pushing the envelope so hard that it caused a reaction.
Yeah, I don't have the energy to study this particular issue closely and argue the merits, but he is pushing the envelope with other things like the Alien Enemies Act. Most of this board thinks the judiciary is biased, but as boosie said on here, Trump is doing a lot of crazy things that are leading to penalty flags.

Congress would be much more credible about tariffs or taxes .... if they first did their job of Legislating
