When did you learn the meaning of lawfare? Proud of you.

Watching even the biased ABC national news this evening, they acknowledged Trump would receive no jail time, or even a fine.

Six months ago when everyone here was hysterical about “they’re going to jail Trump”, someone would comment that he’ll never see the inside of a jail cell (I was one of them), and those folks would get downvoted by the hysterical idiots.

Well here you go. President Trump will never see the inside of a jail cell. He’s good. Doesn’t matter what this craw in the arse judge says tomorrow.

The meaning?

I could probably spin out about 20-30 versions others have used.

Would he actually be a convicted felon? That would impact his right to vote, own a gun, etc. Not to mention any business deals he has with contracts that have ethics clauses where the contract could be terminated due to “criminal behavior”

Maybe, Trump should pack the court now.

You're not allowed to benefit from your crimes, yet these justices have no problem letting a corrupt judge carry on with a scam and erode the justice system. We have idiots in robes, that's what we have.

I’d be shocked if anything. Once Trump is sworn in, these dicks will start protecting their License.

Sounds like they will dismiss it on appeal so who cares if he gets sentenced?

They want the media to be able to crow about it.

I’m surprised it was only 5-4. I think the NY proceeding was absurd and never should have been brought, but I don’t understand the basis for the US Supreme Court to step in now. After sentencing, Trump can appeal, and SCOTUS typically doesn’t review state court decisions until state court appeals are exhausted.

As one of the few conservatives who have always advocated for those wrongly accused and convicted, I hope this whole thing has woken up a few of you. I was in high school during the Duke Lacrosse bullshite, I knew immediately they were innocent. I'm guessing most of you thought they raped the ugly dancer. The cops and prosecutors have been railroading innocent Americans for over a century. Why some of you don't understand that is beyond me.

Both innocent and wrongly accused. Both in the cross hairs of corrupt prosecutors. You really needed me to explain this?

Yeah. It would be extremely strange behavior for the USSC for a state prosecution that hasn't even begun the state-based appeal process.

And many of the main underlying immunity claims are weak as hell in this particular case, as a lot of the behavior involved occurred well prior to Trump even being President. There are some potential witnesses who may have ultimately fallen under the immunity, but that's for the state appeals court first. Even the DC case (which is federal) had the determination sent back to the trial court to decide the immunity issues, with the precedent set in that very case that skipping the intermediate appellate level was inappropriate (if anyone remembers that whole scenario).

4 justices wanted to politicize the court today. That's open season to attack quite a few significant rulings by this court moving forward.

I’d love to see a state appellate court tell Merchants than he fouled up some of the immunity issues such that remand is required.
