Look, I understand that the Democrats are making far too much of Jan 6 and exaggerating about Hilter, etc., but Trump resisted stepping down enough to give them them ammo to say stuff like this and for it to resonate with a certain percentage of voters.
It's another one of the typical ways that he can't bring himself to not step on his own dick, and also an example of how he really—even after 4 years in the WH—still didn't/doesn't have a firm grasp on how the US government actually works. He still thinks he's the CEO of a very large company instead of the head of one branch of government out of three.
