I get it. Relying on job creation, state income taxes, and a marginally higher sales tax to make up for shortfalls in taxing property owners is all we can do to keep up with Texas and other southern states to stay competitive.
well we could always try to live within our means. Quit making up budgetary numbers that are complete horseshite. Close a few colleges, or otherwise reduce the size of state government. You know, not spend money we don't have.

We definitely need a tax overhaul no doubt about it.
Eddie's platform is two-pronged:
1. Constitutional Convention to overhaul our tax and government structure
2. k-12 and higher Education overhaul to more align curriculum with what employers are looking for, and develop private/public partnerships with employers, particularly in STEM fields.

Where is that fat broad who always makes sure to get camera time for TBR?

I actually agree with you on TOPS. I have a another one for TOPS: it’s retroactive after the semester.
Sure, the very first semester you would have to front the money, but once you have completed the necessary requirements for TOPS, you are reimbursed (money could be used for next semester and so on). You have bad grades/not enough hours, you don’t get the money. You drop out of school, you owe the money back. It would save a lot by itself.

JBE has surprisingly done a decent job & is far less liberal than the D next to his name would insinuate.
He's a tax-and-spend liberal. You're foolish if you think otherwise.

In order to reduce ITEP, Louisiana first would need to bring in some other job sector to rely less on industrial projects. Tax overhaul is good and all but if you make it less appealing for industry, they will leave and without some other form on industry to move in; Louisiana dies.

If your goal is to stay in Louisiana, Finance, Accounting, Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Law, Medicine are all good fields. If you're studying petroleum engineering you know if you want to stay in LA you're gonna be working offshore from south La or Texas.

And Mr. Eddie employs a ton of people with his so-called lined pockets. Eddie has my vote.

LOL. You don't need to take away the tax break as a whole but 80% tax break on property taxes for 10 years is a bit much. Remember, there is only one Mississippi river.

Shoot, don't remember, class right after you though.

Sitting on a superfund site
You are right on the sell/shutdown, but they will not invest more or do any more than the very minimum to keep from having to pay cleanup for the superfund site. Exxon already announced they withdrew other ITEPs, including the planned billion dollar expansion, since the school board declined others all while naming an expansion to it’s Beaumont facility.

Gotcha. It’s not hard to figure out who i am for people that ever met me.

This. They could go from having 6,000 people on site to 60 without having to deal with the superfund issue, and it would be a massive blow to the region's economy. That's the kind of stuff that happened at dozens of plants around South Louisiana during the 70's and 80's.

Eddie knows what he’s talking about
Rispone is a big state government person? Interesting. That hurts him in my eyes. I may not have any better options than him when it comes time to vote, but he is wrong on this issue.
JBE did the right thing by putting the decisions about how to collect LOCAL taxes into LOCAL hands. JBE's decision to do that is not the same as TBR's stance on ITEP. TBR's stance is that locals should shoot them down. JBE's stance is that locals should have the choice.
This is a complicated topic. It's a shame that many people in our state are too dumb to understand it. All them know is R=Good and D=Bad.

If the government didn't pick winners and losers, that argument might hold water.
