Trump has been consistent on his position about Iran having nukes since before his first term.
Iran with nukes would be a threat to US interests abroad and at home.
He isn't putting US troops on the ground.
He struck only their nuclear facilities.
That's it. Other than this operation, it's Israel's fight.
Could there be a response from Iran? Sure. But unless the mullahs want to commit state suicide, they won't (at least not against US interests).
All things considered, this is a minimal use of US power in response to the absolute refusal of the Iranians to abandon their nuke program.

And he tried to backtrack and allow some illegal immigrants to stay if they worked on a farm(a neocon thing), but resistance was able to get him to backtrack.
