RSBN is a popular pro-Trump publisher that live-streams Trump public appearances and rallies.

History for you:
quote:

On November 2, 2016 one week before the national election Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) confirmed they had their live stream disabled by YouTube, after having their live stream camera sabotaged that morning.

On Sunday Right Side Broadcasting Network announced that after 300 million+ views of PresidentTrump rallies and four years of following the rules on YouTube, their live-streaming ability was taken away with no explanation.

Simply broadcasting a live stream. All permissions given, no rules broken.

This year, they are being more proactive in taking down websites and conservative media.

Youtube taking down channels is like the phone company ending service to people they disagree with politically.

You don't support gay marriage? You don't get to use our 'private' services.

I just watched part of their pre-rally video last night. RSBN has a crew in New Mexico to cover tonight's rally.

Dammit. Google/YouTube SUCKS arse.

I looked at their Twitter and they should be good to go for a MAGA live stream tonight.

Not saying it isn't scary as hell, but Google isn't zapping them (at least not right now).

This isn't just taking down RSB it is actually forcing them into bankruptcy.

This is going to severely cripple our company and make it extremely difficult for us to survive in the lead up to 2020,” Joe Seales, CEO of the Right Side Broadcasting Network, said this evening.

Can someone direct me to the law regarding the difference between publisher and platforms. I searched, but there are a lot of opinion pieces about it.

What does the law actually say about this?

In a nutshell, a platform simply provides the medium (platform) for individuals to make a statement. Think of it like your cell phone carrier, they are not held liable if you discuss criminal activity.

A publisher as an editor, selectively publishes media, so they decide what gets seen by readers or viewers. They can be held liable for false statements since they are in control.

FB, Twiiter, Youtube, and many other social networking companies keep claiming to be a platform all the while removing "in their opinion" videos or posts they deem as not meeting the guidelines for acceptable material.
