The campaign to recall Mayor LaToya Cantrell pumped more than half a million dollars into advertising, canvassing and other expenses during the final weeks of its signature-gathering push, organizers said in a campaign finance filing that shows its total receipts have swelled to nearly $1.2 million.

The report filed Wednesday shows that businessman Rick Farrell has continued to spend prolifically on the recall, whose future hangs in doubt as employees of the Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters verify signatures ahead of a March 22 deadline.

Once again Farrell, a former Cantrell campaign donor turned fierce critic, has chipped in the lion's share of the recall campaign's receipts. Between January and early March he donated $570,000, which equaled 93% of the campaign's income in that period.

I’m all for deposing that dog faced ghetto witch from power, but who is going to replace her that will actually make a difference?

We all know 3/4 of New Orleans voters would riot before anyone barely center of left would be allowed to take over and steer the ship. Just seems like wasted time and effort at this point other than to rub it in the Destroya’s face.

I applaud anyone fighting the good fight. But that city needs to fully implode before anything of substance will happen there. Those citizens need to reap what they sowed.

They took an awesome, cool city and turned it into Baghdad. I feel sorry for the good people left, and they should leave while they can.

The city is beyond repair and has been for 20 years.

Patriot.
Good on him.
Really surprised more NOLA residents haven’t stepped up to the plate.

JP Morrell would take the seat. He is competent and an operator. I may not agree with him politically, but he’d get shite fixed and operational, and that’s all we need at this point.

Where the frick was this dickbag when she was actually RUNNING FOR REELECTION?!

New Orleans' GOP big money folks already fricked this up 6 ways to Sunday by not opposing her or mounting virtually any defense against her when they had the chance.

Why would they? No Republican is ever going to win elected office in Nola. It’s more a matter of getting less bad Democrats elected.

From everything I've read and watched about her I'd just like to see her go down in flames as a person. I'm sorry New Orleans is fricked but it would be jolly good fun to see that astonishing kunt get destroya'd
