That can’t be the only reason you reject religion.
That concept applies to many roles throughout all of society and you can’t possibly reject all of those.
Also, this type of authority is given to them by the people listening, the audience.

I don’t actually care about whether you subscribe to organized religion or not 
Cynically, I have a healthy distrust of people in power/authority and thus don’t always trust organized religion as well.
Having said that, to use that as your (albeit implied) only reason to not subscribe to organized religion seemed a little small/short minded.
