WV is notorious about being stand-offish to outsiders.

Very insular.

KC certainly is not in the scope of NY but there's been a shite load of small businesses close since June. It appears a lot of business lasted about 90 days and then they finally threw in the towel. Its not good because many of those small businesses are where millions of American were working prior to COVID19. I'm sure many of these small businesses will reopen in some fashion but it's going to be several years before small businesses are back to pre COVID19 levels. Makes you wonder if commercial real estate is going to have a lot of loan defaults.

I’m thinking the chances are extremely high.

Between many jobs telecommuting and a lot more businesses shutting down due to a lack of traffic and/or government directed shutdown, I think that a 2008 style real estate bubble burst is inevitable.

Which is why I have a good friend from the military who was born and raised there, and recently retired and moved back to vouch for me. The area he lives in is absolutely beautiful and he's already keeping an eye out for good deals on property in the area for me.

Well, if you've longed for the days of 1970's Times Square to make a comeback you could be in luck!!!

Let's see. Liberal leaders and policies turn a great city into a decrepit/crime infested shite hole. Law and order is restored. The city rebounds and thrives. Because things are good the radical liberals have to invent problems to "right" and elect a radical bozo to lead the charge. The city then starts the road back to disrepair. Rinse and repeat

Fill a U-Haul truck with couches and let them see you unloading them. You'll be accepted that moment.

On a serious note though people really are making plans and moving to more rural areas. My brother just bought a home and 6 acres about 10 miles from me out in BFE and he hasn't lived in my county in 25+ years and has never lived in BFE.

It has always been my plan to retire to a nice chunk of acreage somewhere as far away from people as possible.

The current climate in this country is just accelerating those plans.

I grew up in the country, fishing, hunting, etc. but have spent most of my life in large and mid sized cities around the globe. Time to return to what I grew up with.

Did you read this gem in the article?

quote:

Of Ark Restaurants’ five Manhattan restaurants, only two have reopened, while its properties in Florida — where the virus is far worse — have expanded outdoor seating with tents and tables into their parking lots, serving almost as many guests as they had indoors.

New York has 32,500 deaths, Florida has 8500...yep, Florida is far, far worse

My daughter had a 4,000 sq ft house in NC. Her now ex was a contractor and he built it. Nice place. They had tried to sell it off and on for years since it was really too big for two people.

A few weeks ago, they put it on the market. It sold in a week and they were offered more than they asked.
