It doesn't need to be rethought it just needs to go away. Just leave it up to the states to sort out. It was inevitable there was going to be some blowback on this politically but nothing could be done about it. Court made the right call but there was a political price to pay as the Democrats exploited it as a wedge issue.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people."

You reap what you sow. Americas BIG problem is its unfaithfulness to the one true God. Know this though. God will not be mocked. I truly believe that judgment is at the door step.

But there is hope:

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

As a republican it just seems like we sure know how to shoot ourselves in the foot. But let’s look at the consequences of banning abortion:

Back alley clinics
Increased crime
Increase in taxes to pay for welfare kids
Increase in child neglect cases

Banning abortion is fine but don’t complain when your taxes go up.

That is a painfully awful take on abortion. I could make the case a lot better, and I'm radically pro-life.

Which is EXACTLY what the Dobbs ruling holds. Dobbs doesn't ban the practice. It simply holds there is no constitutional right to an abortion.

(2) government shouldn't have a say in abortion

Even though I think the practice is despicable, abortion is not, nor will ever be an issue that drives my political leanings. I just think there are far too many more important issues that take precedence.

That said, if you feel the aborting of a fetus is the taking of a human life then it is hard to make a distinction between abortion and murder...which no one denies government should have a say in (unless you think murder should also be legal). The only distinction between the two is if the abortion is necessary to save the life of the mother, which is akin to a "self-defense" argument in the killing of another. Thus, while I don't consider myself to be pro-life or pro-choice, I understand the all or nothing fervor of those who are pro-choice.

Right, which exactly where we are back to after more than a half century. But Dems have convinced their entire base and some conservatives that "the supreme court overturned a constitutional right". Which is not true.

These women want abortions need to take it up with their statehouses and not put in terrible senators over the issue...

It was worth it. The abortion issue will settle down when the drama queen pro-death crowd realize their states can still allow it.

What other lives should the government have no say in protecting? How ‘bout dem darkies? Should we go back to counting them as 2/3 a person?

This is an absolute absurd way of thinking. Abortion is a modern Holocaust that too many people seem to want to ignore.

Without the pro-life groups the Republican Party would have died before Reagan. Just like abolition was highly unpopular yet the Republican Party carried the mantle because it was the correct moral stance, abortion should remain important to the republicans.

On the flip side, I will say there should absolutely be some gray area here where the mother has a choice if there's legitimate risk of death involved, rape, etc. I hate how everything with bipartisanship is so compartmentalized with no gray areas. I'm a moderate republican and the majority of issues I see are on the right side, but I'm never going to be a fall in line type guy. Of course right now as I see it, this country is headed in the wrong direction with what I see as the result of mostly decisions by the Democrats.

This is absolutely garbage. In 99% Late term abortions (after 30 weeks) the mother planned to keep the child but had a terrible decision to make due to the health of either her or the baby. It’s not as cut & dry as you try to make it

Republicans at the very least need to dramatically improve their messaging on the issue. Invoking religious reasons doesn’t work when the people you’re arguing with don’t have the same beliefs.

The messaging of their being little difference between aborting a viable fetus and murdering a new born baby is much more compelling to a non-religious person. Not all of them, but enough to move the needle on the debate.

Making first trimester abortions illegal with no exceptions for rape and incest is a losing stance, full stop. Same with health of the mother.

Did you see that Chuck Schumer is an ardent defender of abortion even in the late term but is against abortion in Israel?

Abortion has nothing to do with 'woman's rights' to such people. It's a blood ritual.

63 million sacrificed goyim babies later is a massive victory for them. They will never let it go.

Even if you take God out of the discussion, one cannot deny that brain activity and a heartbeat is a life with potential and “aborting” a child that is viable outside the womb under normal circumstances is murder. To believe otherwise is barbaric, irrespective.

Because it's murder. How about we stop sending kids to leftist indoctrination camps?
