I don't really get the takes here
They should take it as an FU to the City, and then citizens should go give money to the foundation so they can give more to the officers.

500 or risk life in jail for shooting a released convict...
Such a tough decision

thought every one of them resigned yesterday and Atlanta burned down last night.
They also "abandoned" 4 different presincts and "refused" to answer their radios!(which is almost impossible BTW)
The amount of dumbassery on this board was at an all time last night.

How much are their lives worth?
I am glad they are getting a bonus, but it isn't worth their lives or freedom. They put up with too much crap, especially this desperate election year for Democrats.

Almost as retarded as thinking the foundation has to bribe people because of a “high number of call outs”

If they are handing out money make it a cool $1,000. Run to the bank to cash that check.

Some of us live on principal but you're a lawyer so I know you don't understand that
Kinda kidding with petti
I don't care if they take it just don't change your stance of calling in because they threw you a few bread crumbs.

I see that as an insult in all honesty.

What about this strategy?
Take the $500
Continue to collect your paycheck
Just drive around on your shift and do nothing.
Total back off
Watch what happens to Atlanta

I just don't know why people are looking at it as bribery instead of
"hey, you're getting shite on by the City and most of you are continuing to work, here's a couple million to help and so you know not everyone is against you"

Yep, the message is loud and clear on what they think a policeman's life is worth. Getting killed by a Rashard Brooks or ruined by a racist DA like Howard has got to be worth a couple $1000, at least.

It is an insult for sure.
But to me it says the powers in ATL are scared! I know they say the Police Foundation is paying for it, (wink, wink, nudge, nudge). But it sure is interesting timing.
Right after all that happened yesterday and last night and now right out of the blue, this bonus is handed out.

If you or I offered a police officer $500 to look the other way, they’d cuff us and charge us with attempted bribery.
When the government does the same thing, it’s a “bonus”.

It's from the police foundation

That money would be better spent by providing the officers with better legal representation when needed.

Since the blacks are completely in charge of the city of Atlanta, and it’s really only white cops that are being targeted, shouldn’t this bonus be limited to white cops?
