Not a good trade.

I hate to be that guy, but I don't like women police officers on the street. Every confrontation becomes a life and death struggle if the criminal resists arrest.

That poor woman should have never been out there.

We need to remove people like this from our society. Permanently. It's not even a conundrum except we make it one.

You killed a woman pleading for her life because you didn't want to be held responsible for your actions.

These people have no morals, no values, and cannot be saved. All they do is create chaos and ruin lives.

We exterminate pests don't we?

It’s absolutely disgusting
The more you think about it, the more sense it makes that cops are so trigger happy these days. Not saying they should be, but with animals like this running the streets, and woke DA's and judges releasing them, I can totally understand why cops are on edge.

But the state has a choice to make. Either defend its citizens or get out of the way.

We are going down a very dangerous road. What if a guy like this gets out of jail and kills someone else. The state should be blamed. It isn't about justice, but prevention. This guy has proven he can't participate in civilized society. Remove him and protect the citizens who can.

If you show that you cannot follow the rules of civilized society, then we should remove you from civilized society. But them on a plane to Africa for all I care, but don't let them back in.

Or... Good citizens will have to protect themselves from the bad.

The government is letting guys like this walk all over everyday people and doing nothing about it but preventing others from protecting themselves.

Exactly. The people that said such things as, "Defund the police" and "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon." Share equal blame with the perp that killed that cop.

Don't police these areas. Don't protect the people that hate you.

What? You must be one of those prison, anti-death penalty protestors that beg for the life of a child murderer.

I assume because Illinois doesn’t have the death penalty?

Why should the state provide room, food, recreation, and medical care for these two for the next 50 years at a cost of 100K per year at a minimum?

I would counter with the notion that keeping an animal like that alive could potentially create life threatening situations.

While that's a good point, the cost of a death penalty prosecution and defense is no small matter. From trial prep through trial and all the way through the end of the very, very lengthy appeals process.....upwards of half million bucks or more.

It's an interesting conversation if you ever get the chance to sit down and talk to one of these murderers. In my previous job I was part of a team that evaluated these people to determine if they were competent to stand trial. The most amazing thing to me is most of them just can't wrap their brain around the fact that there would be greater consequences for murder.

This is one of my favorites. A guy was on trial facing life in prison for paralyzing a cop during a traffic stop. He got pulled over for not having a license plate or temp tag anywhere on the car. It was his momma's car and the plate had come in the mail but he never brought the car to her house to put it on. All he had to do was tell the cop that. He also had a warrant out for not paying child support in over a year. All minor things in the grand scheme of life, right?

Well, the body cam footage showed the cop walk up to the car, bend down to talk in the window and the guy grabbed the cop's head, pulled him in the car and he tried to drive off. The cop's legs got pinned under the car as it drove off and it severed his spine in multiple places. The cop didn't even have a chance to say a single word. When we asked the guy why he didn't just explain to the officer his situation he told us he didn't have the money to pay the child support so he didn't want to go to jail. Well, genius, now you get life.

That guy is always on my mind when I read these stories of cops killing someone while on duty. Their lives are literally on the line every day they go to work.

Damn right, and then the state should be sued... as with everything, it is all about money. These states begin getting sued for billions we will see a shift in how these animals are dealt with.
