My family never owed slaves. Many black Americans today don't have ancestors who are slaves.

So let me get this straight. Biden and Harris ancestors were both slaveowners. Mine came over on a boat from Germany during the potato famine, starving to death, and got jobs in meat packing plants and digging ditches... but I am responsible to pay reparations but Biden and Harris are not?

Most blacks are not the descendants of slaves. Most black migration occurred post Civil war.
So, we would be paying from people who never had slaves to people who never were slaves.
