For those on here thinking NY is all blue, take away the major cities (Erie/Buffalo, Monroe/Rochester, Onondaga/Syracuse, Tompkins/Ithaca, Albany/Albany, and NYC) and the rest of the state is red. People who live both in and outside the cities are fed up now. I do not want to see these cities burn while Cuomo sits back and does nothing. Cops around Buffalo are genuinely nice people who help the community, this has gotten out of hand. The video below from Bailey Ave here in B'lo last night is upsetting, two of the people arrested from the vehicle were shot

Problem is that 10m+ in NYC kind of washes away the rest of the state.

Tell me about it. Separate out NYC into their own district like DC and we're all set.

That's exactly how I thought it would be. Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Ithaca and the Albany to NYC corridor are where all the blue people reside. What's going on in Plattsburgh? Must be Vermont's influence.

Major metropolitan cities will always dominate in elections. We have to figure out how to turn people in metropolitan areas

NYC/Long Island needs to be its own state. Too different from the beliefs of the good people upstate. Upstate NY is one of my favorite regions in this country.

What the hell happened in Plattsburgh? Illegal voters from Burlington take the ferry over and stack the polls?

I just picked 2 random states I knew were safe Dem to help prove the point (Minnesota was a toss-up... why I didn't pick it)

I went to look for California and thought I'd find more red than I actually did... maybe the counties are just skewed there

I'm surprised Suffolk hadn't turned blue.

I do. That's what it's going to take for some of those blue patches to wake up.

Did you miss the whole ballot harvesting thing in 2018? Entire swaths of Cal went blue because they've essentially legalized vote fraud.

Once again, ROLLTIDE4EVER proves to be prophetic. I've preached that these cities need to become city states so they can leave the rest of the states alone.

I'm from Buffalo, parents are still there. 3rd poorest city in the country in the same state with the richest. Huge potential geographically for economic growth, but politicians only care about NYC. State laws that should only apply there apply statewide that keep Upstate poor.

Only reason Upstate areas are blue is abundance of blue collar unions, giant local bureaucracies providing the only employment because of decades of NYC democrat policies that affect the entire state and kill growth potential, and large amount of social program barnacles who just exist. NY Teachers Union is huge Democrat arm and members very effective at indoctrinating the youth, but I still don't know why people in Buffalo and Rochester I grew up with keep voting for Democrats who keep them in poverty and only care about NYC. All state money goes to NYC and tax laws, and other laws like gun control legislation, meant for NYC applied Upstate are outrageous and kill any future for it.

I've told my parents, NYC can take care of itself. There needs to be a movement for NYC to become it's own District like DC and free the rest of the state.

The District of NY.
