There's no inconsistency at all - we know what the Bible says about the Flat Earth and we know that it tracks with the ancient cosmology of those civilizations.
The only inconsistency resides with the Young Earthers and how they explain away the Flat Earthers. Those who are both Young Earth and Flat Earth are consistent.

Regardless of what you think you know, there is much more at stake with the age of the earth and the creation account than the shape of the earth. They are not topics of equal importance.

If you believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God that should be taken literally, you would have to believe in both concepts.
