JOURNALIST: "Can an officer shoot the leg? Can they shoot somewhere that would not result in a fatal wound?"
COLUMBUS POLICE CHIEF: "We don't train to shoot the leg because that's a small target. We train to shoot center mass...There was a deadly force threat that was going on."

I'm not sure a better reply could be made

Shoot their junk so they can’t reproduce.

It is terrifying how many people believe shooting the legs is a viable solution. Every time I hear someone make this claim I cringe so hard.

smaller target results in less accuracy.
which results in small dense objects bouncing around the scene at 1200 feet/second.

This is why I laugh at people who are trying to pass off journalists as the new intellectuals. Sure...shoot a perp in the leg, but don't be surprised if they end up bleeding out due to an artery being cut by the bullet as it goes sailing by.

To be fair, that girl had a pretty large target on her backside.

It's people that have never shot a gun. They think all shots are amazingly accurate.

Because the current tactic is working so well..

Even if you do hit the leg, there’s this big ole femoral artery that would kill them just as dead if hit

Also, that girl’s center mass was in her butt.

Even if this wasn’t one of the stupidest suggestions ever, have you ever heard of the femoral artery? Lots of leg injuries are fatal because of severing this. Good grief these people are dumb.

In my opinion if deadly force is required, it should be deadly. In that situation the big girl was in the process of using deadly force. That threat needed to be ended quickly and efficiently.
Wounding someone does not end the threat.
Wounding someone does not end the threat.

How'd that work out for Sean Taylor?

I believe the Supreme Court says you can’t shoot to wound

She should have been shot, but you don't have to shoot someone 4 times or more. Lol
