Getting hired is the issue post 2020, getting promoted is more difficult than it used to be but the data on that shows it’s less extreme (at least for now) relative to entry-mid level roles
If your manager / boss is an Indian or woman, good luck getting promoted though.

H1B should be eliminated.
Not scaled back.
Not reevaluated.
It was a hustle for companies to cut wages in white collar roles just like construction did with hispanics for blue collar and its now so far out of control that it should be eliminated until we get a handle on how our economy is going to provide jobs for workers post AI.

We may see DEI groups and positions going away, but ESG hasn’t gone anywhere. Pull up the annual financial reports of any publicly traded company and you will find an ESG section with company stats trying to make sure they are in good with the leftist investment mafia.

I prefer "The Sin of Empathy: Compassion and Its Counterfeits" by Joe Rigney.
Allie Beth Stuckey is fine, but sometimes she comes across a bit hyperbolic.
I've read Rigney's book as well. My wife read Toxic Empathy and was ready to run through a wall and wanted me to read it. It was an easy way to connect with her on something and we've had some good discussions with each other with our Gen Alpha daughter in the room.
This book is way better than I expected.

of the ~300,000 new hires at the Fortune 100 between 2016 and 2021, only 6% went to straight white men.
that sounds a bit too much, but if 60% of college grads are women, and then 2/3 of graduate degrees go to women, you've siphoned off the total male population quite a bit. Take another 10-15% from that population to account for gay men and it's going to be a small number. I don't know about 6%, but if you told me 15% I wouldn't blink
*ETA: seeing posts about H1B and yeah that will do a number, too. Sub-10% is a possibility I guess.

Check the Bloomberg article I posted on the other page, the numbers sound unbelievable but it’s reality

What companies told you this? Name and shame.
My previous position had layers of HR, and they always pushed diversity over merit.
I had two hires rejected because while qualified, there were minority candidates available.
the sad part, is women (who usually ended up hired) would lie at interview and claim they could handle the heavy work, and when hired couldnt.

I"m a hiring manager and I was flat out told that I was NOT ALLOWED to hire anyone that has a penis that identified as a man. I could only hire people with multiple colors in their hair that identified as non-binary.
Then I tried to hire ONE white guy with a family and I had to fly to DC and go in front of Congress to testify that he was qualified for the job. Only then was I given the green light to offer him the job.

Too many dipshits confuse their own emotions, which are usually misleading, for empathy.

I went through that shite when I graduated from college a long time ago.
My chosen profession, broadcast journalism, was dominated by white males so every GD company in the country felt like they had to catch up by hiring blacks and females.
It took much longer than it should have to find a job.
who owns every goddam broadcasting company in the country.
I have been saying for over a decade now that our broadcasting/television/"entertainment" has been put to death and replaced over the last two or three decades.

Why are you so triggered??? you are not the segment of population being replaced.
I'm not triggered at all. I'm laughing at the mediocre white guys who are terrified that they can't compete with women and people with darker skin than them.

Companies will pay a steep price for this kind of non-merit based decision making.

There's nothing to reveal straight/from not straight on a job application where I' applied during that time frame and I was job searching in 2020, 2021 and 2022. So that has to be just an educated guess speaking in terms of in-office jobs. Blue collar jobs can't be that picky on white straight men . If Fortune 100 companies are mostly white collar jobs, I'd believe it. Most in office hires now I do agree are women, minorities, or gay males if white.

A friend of mine works in finance and said during the height of it they basically couldn't give internships to white dudes, and they were struggling to find minorities and aggrieved segments to award them to. Not surprisingly in many cases those people were not equipped and washed out. But of course you then get the potential lawsuit that comes with those hires. Good times.

I got passed over on promotion to a female with 20 years less experience & no college degree. I have a master's. Was told females & poc get preferential treatment. 1.5 years later & put in my 2 week notice last week. Going back to DoD world. Screw this dei corp crap.
