There is no "lockbox" with your money in it. The government spends it and some instantly. I think the elite who run this planet would rather no one outside their group lives until SS age.

The life expectancy for an American today is 78.4 years. So he wants Americans to enjoy only 8 years of peace (if you’re lucky) before you die.
Are you aware of what the life expectancy was when they instituted social security l?

Would be great if hard working Americans could opt out of the BS “social security” system.
Investing half of what I pay in to social security into just a moderately performing Mutual Fund would far eclipse the amount paid in to the SS, in half the time.

It is a public debt of the United States.

No, the money paid into Social Security is not your personal money held in a private account; it is a pay-as-you-go system where your taxes pay for the benefits of current retirees, the disabled, and survivors. Those future benefits you expect to receive will be funded by the taxes of future workers.

Are you aware that the maximum deduction once scaled in was only 3% when they instituted social security?

Run your premise back to the origin of SS, along with the original rationale and declarations.
Now then, define legally where those original premises changed.

It is extremely important the election of the US Senator from each state be elected by that respective states' House of Representatives.
Have you talked to these people or read what they have written?

if i take it at 67 i'll get 4k a month, if i wait till 70 i'l get 5k a month rand is an idiot and he doesn't know how anything works.

He is a doctor, or at least he has said that many times. Not an economist.

If there was any doubt he is a fake libertarian mole-KNOW NOW. This was Paul Ryan's push back when before he went to the board of Fox News.
Take note he brings this up when DC is a mess, shut down and just in time for midterms. It is like they want R's to lose and D's to take the gavel. Sound familiar?
It is as bad of a mistake as ObamaCare and not affordable with illegals on food stamps.
Bad timing, just in time. They can't even balance a budget, but they want to bitch about 60 year old messes.
70 is asinine. Rand can EABD's.

Smart advice. I waited until 70 to max out.

Life Expectancy per Social Security
https://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/table4c6.html
Not a great investment.
In fact those who claim SS at 62 break even with those who wait until 67 to claim only at ages 78-81 (or about the mark where 50% of us males will be dead)
quote:
Male at Birth: 74.74
Female at Birth: 80.18
https://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/table4c6.html
quote:
For those who make it to 70 (the 69.83% of us males who make it)
Remaining Life Expectancy: 14.09 years
For the 80.89% of females who make it to 70
Remaining Life Expectancy: 16.27 years
For the 47% of us males who make it to 80 and get paid for 10 years of our SS return... 8.11 years remaining.
For the 62% of women who get 10 years of SS payments, 9.47 years remaining.
For the 16% of us males who make it to 90 and get paid for 20 years of our SS return... 3.91 years remaining.
For the 28% of women who get 10 years of SS payments, 4.62 years remaining.
Not a great investment.

I mean that a great idea as long as we don’t, you know, cut actual spending.
I’ll happily work until the day I die without seeing a penny of what I put into the system as long as unelected bureaucrats get theirs and we don’t touch unsustainable entitlements.
