Said more succinctly.....the shite birds in Congress will never pass legislation or amend the constitution to limit their tax payer funded gravy train.

They fact that vote to continue to pay themselves during a shutdown when real working people aren’t getting paid, tells you everything you need to know about our leaders.

Do we have a breakdown of how many “social democrats” voted to keep paying themselves.

I listened to the debate between Paul and Kennedy....twice. Please tell the exact time point in the 10 minute debate where Paul says he "wants to pay people more". When did he say it?

Like I said. I listened twice and I didn't hear it.

The scourge of grifters on X. Paul didn't say that. Also, his point wasn't that Senators should be getting paid (surely they can miss a few paychecks), but that the federal troops, workers, etc. who are showing up for work should be paid because that would honor their contracts.

This was a cheap attack on Paul.

Side Note: It was a pleasure to watch these two Senators navigate their jobs. Can you imagine the dingbat from Hawaii, Senator Hirono, handling legislation?

What a load of horsehite. Its like his 3rd sentence

"pay everyone thats showing up for work" (1:01)

Kennedy even repeated his statement back to him, "Lets pay everybody" (2:18) and Paul didnt deny it. Rand actually confirmed it when Kennedy asked him to clarify his objection. He stated he wants to keep getting paid while he worked, and to add more people getting paid

How is that not equivalent to saying 'pay more people' during a shut down? Damn, when you have to lie to defend this POS, then youve already lost

Only a moron would interpret him saying to "pay everyone" as that not also including "to pay more people". Rand even stumbled over hiring more people, and said he "probably wouldnt". Not a definitive he wouldnt support the hiring of more people during a shut down

But he made it VERY CLEAR when Kennedy asked him directly, was he objecting to Senators not getting paid, and he said that he wanted to be paid during the shut down

Rand sucks at playing these games.

Fundamentally, he's got a grasp of what gov is supposed to do and be, but FFS, these maneuvers he plays have NEVER worked.

I can tell that it is an achievement for which you strive, but you’re no SFP. Pretend to be an attorney like he does and you may get closer to fulfilling your dreams.

Now you're doubling down. Of course Paul never stated that "he wants to keep getting paid while he worked."

Kennedy agreed with Paul that it was the right thing to do (honor contracts), but that Trump wouldn't sign Paul's bill because Trump doesn't consider Paul "MAGA."

Y'all's attempts to smear Paul are pathetic

You libbers need to quit lying to protect Rand and Massie. In the posted video, his exact words at (1:01) are "Pay everyone who is showing up for work. I think this should be a permanent feature of our government". Rand is included in the words "everyone" and "permanent".

Also, "And a better way than isolating and punishing different groups, pay those that are working" (1:13), which he is specifically referencing himself, because Kennedys bill IS ONLY about not paying Congress during a shutdown. You cant lie your way out of that, because Kennedy pointedly asked him (3:49) if he was against that. He objected to the bill, which means YES

And theres more "I'm not for cutting the salaries of people that are showing up for work" (4:57). The bill deals with only ending pay for Congress during the shutdown, and he wants Kennedy to table his own bill

Then Kennedy asks directly if Rand is against stopping Senate pay (6:55) to which the leader says "That is correct". Kennedy proceeds to a new bill, that only 'suspends' Congress pay until the shutdown ends, and Paul objects a 2nd time.

Hes a fraud. And a greedy POS. But keep lying for him
