I don’t understand who they are competing with. Industry power?

Don’t care who kills it, as long as it’s rare.

I'm not seeing the business opportunity. Please explain the competitive advantage.

Four companies currently hold over 80% of the U.S. beef market at 24 plants.
The Ranchers are tired of getting screwed . The price of cattle, despite the rising cost of meat, continue to decline.

“Sustainable beef plant”
Took me a minute to realize they aren’t talking about some globalist plant that tastes like beef. fricking vegan fake meat tastes like dog a-hole and always will.

There’s a huge gap between price on the hoof and price in the box. There are basically 3-4 companies controller slaughter - box meat and they set the price for live cattle (market cattle). Ranchers looking to get some pricing power.

I'll just take your word for that.

Rancher has 4 options of slaughterhouses to take meat to. They all pay a lowball rate to the rancher because Brazilian and Mexican beef is rolling across the boarder and it drives down the price on the hoof.
Rancher get screwed and can barely make ends meet because imports are killing the market.
Another case is America depending to much on other nations for our most important commodities.

With live cattle bringing a $1.24 per pound and boxed beef at $1.96, think about why the prices in the grocery store are what they are and who actually is making the profit out of all of this.

Correction that $1.96 was hanging beef box beef 260 to 280 depending on grade. See the link for the details.

Sounds like they need to be broken up.
