I support this and have said so here before. There's nothing in the Constitution that says we can't put reasonable age limits on things, and this restriction is eminently reasonable.

Sure. Apply that to all age restricted items and we have a deal.

Drinking, driving and voting. You go for that too?

This solves nothing other than taking scary guns away from law-abiding citizens. As I posted the AR-15 and Mini-14 are the same gun. One just looks scary and if this passes will not be able to be purchased by anyone under 21 but the other one can.

What do you think that solves? What crime will be prevented?

300 win mag is a great semi auto, militarized hunting rifle. Would drive the progs insane.

Guess if you are in TX just get a Ruger Mini-14 at 18 instead of a scary-looking AR-15 since they are the same gun
Hey dumbass, this is the argument to have the age to purchase raised in all semiautos.

Don't these all have different age limits already?

Commirado just signed the same into "law" along with a 3day waiting period, dramatic expansion of who can file a "red flag" protection order, among others.

Abso-fricking-lutely. Will you miss the drunk, Democrat-voting, car-wrecking, AR-shooting 18 to 20-year-old demographic? Maybe you're one of those guys from the OT who likes to skulk around graduation parties seeing which kids are drinking Bud Light?

Texas has gone California. All the celebrating of the California collapse just spread their disease to other states.

Out of curiosity, I just did a google search to get a price range on the Ruger Mini-14. Google would not give me that information or any sites with a for sale ruger Mini-14. Books, accessories, replicas, yes. Lots of replicas and non-firing weapons. Search for pistols produced results.

Texas already lost with the 18-20 carrying a pistol under the equal protection clause, do the legislators somehow see this as being different?

There should be civil and criminal liabilities for passing stupid laws knowing they will be struct down.
