As noted in the twitter feed, she’s conveniently ignoring sparsely populated blue states that have the same number of senators as much, much larger red states. She really doesn’t want to play this game.

That’s the real issue and shouldn’t be overlooked. The woman is blatantly racist. And I don’t mean the type of bias that we grow up with in our own little community. She’s a damn straight up bigot and the Times puts her on the editorial board. It should be appalling to everyone regardless of political affiliation.

You have to keep reminding yourself that the top comments on any given twitter issue, and twitter in general, is populated by the loudest, most obnoxious, and most impassioned segment of the population. On top of that it is generally college students and young adults.
It is not actually representative of the national society at large, despite what the media tells you. This effect was very predictable once all the major outlets started pumping Twitter a few years ago.
