This highlights the problem with politics in a nutshell.

There are truly "fake" news stories and sites (mask as legitimate sites) across the Internet, on both sides.

But rather than having a substantive discussion, one side (in this case the left) overplays it and then it becomes a ridiculous conversation with no substance.

Which is why the whole thing has been such a joke IMHO.

Reddit's threads readily took the piss out of CNN while covering all the WikiLeaks stuff because CNN tried to make it seem as if regular people shouldn't read it themselves unless CNN said it was OK for them to do so.

Reason is irrelevant garbage. They signal more to shitlibs than many of the mainstream leftists own websites.

Yep. NPR just did a whole piece on it.

Their strategy includes two methods of control: censorship and litigation.

Censorship is already happening with the collusion between the Democrats/left and platforms like reddit, Facebook, twitter, etc.

Next they are going to start suing individual posters that further what they decide to be "fake news." The goal is to use litigation and the threat of litigation to stifle any discussion that they deem troublesome.

I'll never understand why young people ghink reddit is sp great. 99% of the people on there are the biggest blowhard idiots on the planet.

Because there are hundreds of thousands of sub-Reddits. Some are garbage and some aren't. The only time I I actually spent time on r/politics was to see them melt after Trump won.

Fake News is the plug and play "reason" for eliminating non-progressive world views from your social media platform.

Hard for the left to go after individual reddit posters since Reddit has been caught editing posts (that were critical of Hillary).

Reddit politics is a massive liberal circle jerk.

Now they want to reduce the influence of anything that isn't a liberal circle jerk.

Solid proof that all they really mean are sites that disagree with the leftist line.

Declaring everything that disagrees with them to be "fake news" will not work out well. They are going to lose this one spectacularly.

My copy of MES sits right next to my copies of The Road to Serfdom, The Open Society and Its Enemies (Vols 1 and 2), and the collected works of Bastiat (love me some broken window fallacy).
