Because governments control via one emotion, and one only.

Fear. If you don’t fear your government (and you should) they need another one to project your fear on so they have more firm control of you.

That’s really all it is. Russia is an adversary on the world stage, but not an enemy. They are pursuing foreign policy that promotes their interests. It conflicts with the US because we are tied to NATO, AND we have to pretty much fund and arm the European defense.

Europe is a major export market, but under Russian control that would likely remain largely the same. Gotta sell to someone, and China is as much an enemy to them as they are to us.

Enemy, not adversary.

There are certainly communist in Russia, but they are not the majority. Technically Russia is not a communist country anymore, they are on paper a democratic state. But they tend more in reality to be a dictatorship in practice.

Oh, that's easy...we hate them because the MIC needs enemies for us to fund proxy wars against.

I don't hate Russians.

I dislike their government, and historically that holds up across several regimes.

I haven't cared since the fall of the Iron Curtain thanks to Ronald Reagan.

Democrats trying to tap into the "commie" hate for votes.

Move there and then report back to us.

Strange as it may seem, there are a number of people that have moved to Russia from the USA. And invariably it is because they are wanting to move away from a gov't that wants to control your freedom of religion, push woke culture and control everything you are allowed to do on your own property. So mostly people that want to live off grid, worship, and grow their own food.

I could never do it due to family, weather etc. but it is a real thing. I stumbled across a couple of youtube channels of families that moved for this reason.

Yeah all of the blood shed from that war is terrifying. That war should make everyone hate the USSR. Oh wait.....

There is no exact number for the total number of deaths during the Cold War, but estimates range from 100,000 to 20 million people:
Proxy wars: The Cold War was a period of ideological conflict between the US and USSR, and many people died in the proxy wars fought during this time. Some estimates say that as many as 20 million people died in these wars.
Nuclear conflict: Estimates of the number of deaths that could have occurred in a nuclear war between the US and the Soviet Union varied widely. For example, a 1964 report to President Kennedy estimated that a nuclear exchange could have killed 134 million Americans and 140 million Soviets.
US military casualties: The US lost over 100,000 people in its proxy wars during the Cold War.

Been to Russia quite a few times, some really wonderful areas with nice people but it's such a large and separated place that once you leave far West there's little real national unity at all.

Most of what we're fed is post cold war lingering propaganda, but the country truly is an oligarchy and while I don't oppose it on its face it isn't great for the people there. A lot of them seem to feel powerless to make change.

Being born outside the US I wasn't fed the same propaganda but seeing it firsthand it's anything but an ideal government. My only real opposition would be to anything regarding territorial expansion in Europe, which has always led to larger, deadly conflicts.

Seriously, not knowing the actual toll of the cold war proxy fighting should be embarrassing.

Maybe not hate their guts, but they are quite authoritarian and have expanded their borders militarily 3 times in less than 20 years.

While I don't have a dog in the fight, I can still have an opinion on them. Or, at least, their leadership.

Nothing since the collapse of the Soviet union.

In fact Russia has been trying to appease the USA and to form an alliance. They wanted to join NATO which would have brought total peace to the region.

In countries where Russians are in direct conflict with USA, Russia has permission to be there whereas the USA is illegally occupying and stealing resources. An example is Syria.

The USA and Britain want a major war with Russia. US citizens cheer it on not realizing that if Russia falls, China falls and an actual one world government will rule over all.

You will own nothing and be happy once all the resources of the planet are controlled by the few people who say you should eat bugs.

It will happen because too many of you fall for the actual propaganda time and time again.

"Muh muh Russia bad! Nuke them! I read somewhere that North Korean troops were fighting in Ukraine so now i support using long range missiles to strike inside russia! Slava Ukraini!" - mindless idiots

None of the war mongers will respond to this. PUSSIES

Why did they do that? Explain why in as much detail as you can for all 3 times.

Remember, don't leave out any important details.

Let's see if you tuck tail and run.

Lately? Nothing really.

20th century? Many reasons to hate them just based on what they did to their own people. Murdering the Czar and his young children, Bolshevism, Red Terror, Gulags, Holodomor and other democide horrors.

It's a traditional European playbook about restoring borders and uniting peoples, dressed up as responses to some "aggression"

Would be hard to argue otherwise for Crimea and the Donbas.

Whether it's our job to stop that is a different question entirely.

Just about everything in Russia's history since the communist revolution should make you see them as the enemy. They are currently mass murdering and raping their way around Ukraine while indiscriminately bombing civilian targets. Stalin killed off about 4x the number pf people that Hitler did. The whole country is basically run like the mafia would run a country. You should hate the Russian government but hope for peace with the Russian people.
