It's not a "veterinary medicine", fella. And your buddy should use better judgement.

It appears you didnt..

There is legitimate evidence to suggest both

All the way through intubation and extubation.
But of course best odds if started at day 1 of symptoms.

I’m of the opinion that ivermectin may or may not work and I have no reasonable way to know for sure. My mom is in the hospital right now with high heart rate due to Covid. She’s 3 weeks in.

Her brother and sister are trying to get me to call these bogus numbers in other countries to get a prescription for ivermectin for her. They’ve called the numbers and you have to give them money just to speak to someone. Then nobody shows up on the call. Sounds like a huge scam.

Her cardiologist hasn’t suggested trying it. Should I push him to? What if it’s more harmful to her than not taking it? Doesn’t he have access to studies that would guide him to make that decision?

So when people with nothing but anecdotal evidence and a really loud mouth spout off about the unmitigated success of ivermectin yet don’t have any real skin in the game (themselves or a family member currently infected), it really just pisses me off

It was used in veterinary medicine for many years before being approved for human use. It is not only horse medicine but many of us give it to our pet dogs once a month for heart worm.
Doctors are prescribing it through telemedicine.

It's not. It is literally a Nobel-prize winning drug that is both cheap and effective. It is proven over decades to be very safe for humans. It is used to treat all sorts of diseases and illnesses.

Bret Weinstein said it best:

"If you prescribe it and it doesn't work, then you haven't done the patient any harm. However, if you don't prescribe it and it does work, you have done the patient harm."

Personally, I will ask/demand it from my doctor over any other treatment should I come down with a serious case of COVID. Whether they can and/or will prescribe it is obviously the issue.

This was supposed to be in reply to jamiegla1

You can call AFLDS telemedicine here in the U.S.

Here are two doctors that have been using it since April of 2020:

Look at this data coming out of India

quote:

Among the most prominent examples include the Ivermectin areas of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa where cases dropped 98%, 97%, 94%, and 86%, respectively. By contrast, Tamil Nadu opted out of Ivermectin. As a result, their cases skyrocketed and rose to the highest in India. Tamil Nadu deaths increased ten-fold.

It's still largely unproven as a therapy of any kind for COVID, but there are multiple clinical trials ongoing.

There is more data to support it's use than the use of a vaccine. It's also much safer and much more effective than the vaccines.

Last year India had a death rate of 18 per 100,000 compared to U.S. at 165 per 100,000. Since then they have had two separate genocidal government restrictions on ivermectin, while those local governors defied deep state restrictions and mass-treated with ivermectin, with those predictable results.
Meanwhile a ridiculous black market for worthless but limited supply Remdesivir popped up, even after the giant WHO study showed no significant reduction in mortality or length of hospital stay, with the most recent VA study showing no reduction in mortality and Remdesivir actually increasing hospital stay on average 3 days!

This post makes if seem that you are you regretful some people will not join you in getting vaxxed? You shouldn't be regretful. All people have different medical and health profiles with different risk tolerances and getting vaxxed or not vaxxed is a personal decision.

I know a rancher baw who has been taking the Ivermectin Horse paste for a year as a preventative.

He hasn't gotten any signs of Covid so maybe it has worked. He isn't dead, so the horse paste hasn't killed him.

The people here posting bogus studies don't even have the ability to determine for themselves what constitutes a quality study. It's the pursuit of confirmation of one's inherent beliefs. Any evidence is good evidence.

For example, Ivermectin was used a ton in Latin America, but the use of it is so abundant that nobody can discern whether or not it has a beneficial effect.
