Trying to imagine how that would be portrayed if it was our president signing that shite.
BREAKING: President Harris signs new law that helps us all.
"President Harris bravely signed bill that could allow her to have an extra three terms. She is so compassionate and selfless, to sacrifice an extra decade of her life to keep America safe and secure. It's truly a blessing for our country. "

Where is the poster from the other Russia thread that denied Russia is still communist or has the KGB?
It's me and they are not communist because they aren't. Do they have a corrupt government - Yes But it is not a
communist system such as North Korea or China - NO!.

I think it’s a structural flaw.
Democracies select and promote the wrong people. And Democracies inevitably become oligarchies over time.
Look at who runs for office, it’s either the very rich or people who want to get rich.
Bloomberg is the definition of an oligarch, and it’s telling that Bloomberg News has an editorial policy - writers are forbidden from calling him an oligarch.
Biden is a good example of the other sort. He’s traded power for money his entire career. He worked for big industry, not the voters.
Ultimately, the majority of representatives are either oligarchs, or people who work for the oligarchs

Sometimes voters can make mistakes. But they can fix it.

Sounds like a good argument for robust taxing of upper income levels.

As much as I dislike many things going on in the United States right now, I’m glad to live in a place where we are set up where a President can’t easily do things like this. Hopefully we never reach a point like that.

Elections are an obedience ritual.
I voted, ergo i accept your right to command me.
They’re not a useful too for removing corrupt leaders. Look at Congress now.
Even contested elections end up being a fight between two flavors of the oligarchy.
On the one side you have the Republicans, and the legacy industries, like mining. And on the other , you have the Democrats, and the new industries, like the tech sector.
It’s not a battle between the virtuous and the corrupt. But between two different kinds of rich people, and their industries.

Agree. I may not like the results of last Fall's election, but at least we know there's another one in four years.
Though I'm sure the Trump worshipers wish he could have signed something like that to remain in power till '36.
Same ones who seem to be rooting for Putin at times.

That's funny as the democrats after stealing the election are attempting to change voting laws, make DC and Puerto Rico states to ensure they keep power for the next 100 years.
Exactly!
And pack the court, and end the filibuster.

Voters still have the power to change it. That’s the mechanism. They can vote for people that promise to raise taxes, reign in out of control industries, etc.
Better that than rely on the good graces of a philosopher king. What’s that saying about absolute power?

If that was true, Washington would be empty.
It is a cesspit or self dealing, and self enrichment. On both sides of the aísle.

Yet state power has only increased, and government has only become more repressive.
Our grandparents were freer than we are. And we will be freer than our grandchildren.
