As others have mentioned this isn't even a blockade on most of Ukraine coast.
That's funny.
Here's the Kerch Strait for those that haven't looked it up.
It's akin to the U.S. blockading foreign warships from the Gulf of California to irk Mexico.

There isn't a blockade. They didn't even say they put a blockade on. The Daily Mail incorrectly called it that.
To put a blockade on Ukraine, Russia would have to cut off access to the Strait of Istanbul. (Or send their navy to patrol the entire northwest Black Sea.)

No it doesn’t for two reasons.
1. The Sea of Azov is a shallow sea. The average depth is just 23 feet. The USN’s amphibious assault ships have a minimum draft of 25 feet.
2. In order to pass through the Kerch Straits, ships have to pass within artillery range of guns and missiles bases in Crimea and the Russian mainland.
The USA/Nato would have to reinforce Ukraine by air or rail with or without this action by Russia.

Ukraine’s busiest ports for the last ten years are on the black sea not the sea of azov. Ships do not have to transit the Kerch Strait to reach Odessa and the other Ukrainian ports.
I agree that this move makes Biden looks like a pussy and Biden is a pussy, but this doesn’t affect anything at all.
