Dude carries a 90+% approval rating from his people, so we can eliminate the need for him to garner support as a reason for the presser.
This is more a flex on NATO and surrounding Euro territories IMHO to scare them into submission and support for anything U.S. affiliated with regard to Ukraine.
I still think this is old school tactics and a hyperbole war.
