I support abortion in cases of rape or in certain cases where the mother's health is at extreme risk.

What I don't support is someone just being able to abort a child because the forgot to wear a condom

Point being, folks are taking some awfully rigid emotion-packed positions about things they may not fully understand.
BTW. The same critique and more can be applied to late-term abortion advocates.

The legislators and the Governor of Alabama don't fully support the abortion ban that was signed into law.

you either support it enough to vote/sign it or you don't. You have it. Own it

Do you even realize the slippery slope this gets into?

Why?

What makes the mother more important than the child?

Ok, so what relevance does (inability to distinguish between a human and a bovine embryo) have on the abortion argument?
Substantively, not much. It was funny to watch, but it is still a bit of a juvenile "gotcha."

To the extent that there IS any substantive relevance, it lies in the fact that opponents of abortion rights almost-uniformly pretend that they do not base their position upon their entirely-subjective religious views, but instead upon the idea that the ZBEF (zygote/blastocyst/embryo/fetus) is "human" and sacrosanct by virtue of its species. That seems like a really silly basis for a substantive position, when such persons cannot recognize whether a give embryo is even "human."

You don’t think the interests of society should be taken into account with regards to the limits on individual freedom? I don’t get your point. Of course it’s a slippery slope. That is the challenge of government/being governed. What are we even talking about?

I’m against abortion of any kind.

The feds should have no part in it.
