After pulling out of the World Health Organization, the Trump administration is proposing spending $2 billion a year to replicate the global disease surveillance and outbreak functions the United States once helped build and accessed at a fraction of the cost, according to three administration officials briefed on the proposal.
Been a big fan of Kennedy since he took office, but this is a head scratcher for sure.

Not really.
If you think the WHO is corrupt and dishonest, you need your own agency to contrast their findings.
I'm giving the administration the benefit of the doubt, of course, and opponents will argue that it is the Trump agency that is reporting fake news, not the WHO, but at least there will be an alternative.

Let me know when this actually happens or it's not just a rumor from anonymous sources. If I get worked up over every anonymously-sourced article, I won't have time to focus on real problems.
