They did that back in January, ended up deader than Davey Crockett and it brought them no closer to freedom. Without being armed, they have no chance. The US was able to have its freedom because some muskets, cannons, and the French fleet basically put as at parity with British forces. That’s not going to be possible in the streets of Tehran.

Those are not our stated goals.
Here our official stated goal as presented by DEF SEC Hegseth
1- Destroy Iran's missile stockpiles, their missile launchers and their defense industrial base. (Missiles and their ability to make them).
2- Destroy their Navy.
3- Permanently deny Iran nuclear weapons forever.
We will not relent until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated.

"How we want", in my opinion, is a regime change and a complete flip of Iran, to an American ally. I think that's the reason we're in this. I think we saw an opportunity to make it happen, and took it. The uprisings in Iran, and the pro-Pahlavi movements around the world.
In a best-case scenario, we see Pahlavi lead the revolution and transition Iran as he states he wants to, and they do become a modern-looking ally in the region. That would make this all worthwhile, and would be FAR more important than anything with Venezuela and/or even Cuba.

because despite what the Obama and Biden admins as well as their gullible supporters believe
the Iranian regime is a religious zealotry hell bent on the destruction of the US and Isreal. They have been calling for the death of each since Day 1.
They are liars and despots who prey on weak and gullible leaders like Obama and even weaker leaders like Biden (whose admin didn't even think through the process just re-instituted what Obama did).
They have also demostrated this through Oct 7th, an event that was funded by the billions provided and/or released by the Obama and Biden admins. As well as the proxies and other global terrorism they have sponsored for 50 years (and perpetuated directly).
They are evil. They need to be monitored and resisted constantly. If their pwn people are unwilling or incapable of rising up and putting them down we must do so as often as is necessary
That means we also need to protect the weak and stupid among us, even while they whine about the protection they will never fully grasp they are under.
