I think they have to try and enter your car. I don't think you can shoot through a closed window unless they are trying to get in your car. Then it's an attempted car jacking .
I don't think you can shoot someone walking up to your car.

There are good reasons to have it. It speeds up background checks when buying from FFL, the class offers good info on legalities in shooting situations, and just another reason to go to the range. I agree with your sentiment, but there are benefits to a ccl.

Then it's attempted carjacking and a good shot. But if he rolls down window or shoots through window you'll likely be charged. But could still get off.

There is no reason at all to not have a CCL. Better to have and not need it than to need and not have it. I pack a Sig Sauer .380.

I will not ever license or register a gun.

You do know federal still prohibits concealed carry within 1000' of a school without a permit. Constituional carry does not provide an exception.

Not to be interpreted as support for the law... but thats what it currently says.

That’s correct. They need to be in the act of forcing their way in.

Obviously, if they’re otherwise putting you in fear for your life, like waving a weapon as they approach, you don’t have to wait for them to smash your window.

Right uf unarmed you can't shoot unless they try and enter the car with you in it.

Yelling at a window would have put this guy in jail. Which is why he posted this here and not on the ODB.

Exactly. You can’t kill somebody for calling you names, no matter what they look like.

"Knowing your rights" is different than "taking concealed carry class".

You can learn the same info without paying someone for it.
You can conceal in a Constitutional Carry state.
In Louisiana, you can carry in your car without a license.

And get liability insurance because the POS that causes you to shoot them POS families will sue you.

I have CCWSafe. It's less that $200 a year for $1M in liability and legal expenses.

I may get downvoted to death here but this is accurate.

I don’t care how Red your area is you are going to the Big House if you pop some dude across a parking lot for yelling at you.

Big dude got out of his car yesterday yellin at me. Called me a white bitch. For what? I was letting him go where he wanted in a parking lot while i waited for him to go so i could exit. Lucky for him he didnt come to my window as i had my glock ready to empty. Know your rights in your state. This world is getting crazy.
Don't know your state laws so not sure what he would have had to do for to "empty". But now a days, there are Ben Crumps of the world where you might have been clearly within your rights to empty. But, you also need to consider the cost of defending yourself in the civil suit that is surely to follow. I have an enhanced conceal carry in a Constitutional carry state and a Castle doctrine. All of that would protect me from criminal. You can sue a ham sandwich now a days, though.

All you had to do was take a pic of his license plate and call 911 and claim you saw this car driving recklessly and possibly drunk. Or leaving the scene of a bank robbery.lol

frick CCL. You shouldn’t have to take a class and register to exercise your constitutional rights.

I agree that carry is a constitution right. I do recommend that people take classes. If for nothing else to learn what the law, in the wrong hands, will try to put them in prison for.
Good instructors also have all kinds of good tips about different carry styles, situational awareness, not boxing yourself in, etc.

It really varies state to state. I'm not being mean when I say that you need to differentiate. Because what is legal for you where you live could change as soon as you cross a state line.
And I'm saying this... To keep you out of prison. Don't think. Know.. Your freedom depends on it.
