Government agent that has grown bigger than his shoes it seems.

So much so, he doesn't adhere to territorial jurisdiction.

Deserved every drop of what happened.

Plus he is alone and in plain clothes.

It's an entirely reasonable presumption that he is some nut impersonating an officer.

ATF agent filed a lawsuit, and I can see why. Cops rolled up with a gun drawn on him. He wasn’t a threat nor was he impersonating a police officer and was acting within his capacity. Yeah frick ATF but he wasn’t breaking the law.

All he had to do was comply. It would’ve been all over.

But fed privilege.

What exactly is the ATF doing? This seems wrong on so many levels.

Aren't they randomly harassing people who buy multiple guns to search for straw purchases

It’s common courtesy and professionalism to let the agency with primary jurisdiction (PD or SO) know when you’re doing something like this in their area.

This.

I recently retired with 25 years as a fed LEO, we coordinated with locals for most operations.

Ya, a simple phone call to the locals might have gotten him some back up or at the very least it might have gotten someone in the area.

Officer safety.

The Fed wasn’t complying with lawful orders from the LEOs so tack on Obstructing to the Disturbing the Peace charge.

Exactly

Always comply with the guys in uniform if you're plain clothes, not doing so is a good way to get hurt.

No telling what went on between the Fed and the resident. The resident might have asked for proof the guy was law enforcement and got threats and sarcasm in return. Regardless, the Fed should have reacted the way he’d like the local LEOs to react if he issued the same orders.

Didnt the ATF guy say he had to get his creds from his car? So your point is legit if the resident asked and he gave him lip about it cause he didn't have it on him.

Then you don't see very well at all.

He was attempting to intimidate someone into allowing their 2nd Amendment rights to be violated, didn't notify local law enforcement he would be operating in the area and failed -MULTIPLE TIMES- to follow lawful orders. These are orders he should intimately understand the reasons for.

His lawsuit has about a snowball's chance in hell. It's nothing more than the agent's attempt at hiding his embarrassment and an attempt to excuse his role in all this.

Guns didn't come out until he ignored lawful orders.
