What a surprise, Pramila PayPal doesn't want to help regular Americans.

Stimmies are pretty popular. $15 min wage is pretty unpopular.

One positive benefit of the $15 minimum wage: I'll never have to tip a server in a restaurant ever again. No tipping dealers at a casino, no tipping bellhops. Nada. Their employer is about to double their hourly wage. Why do I need to pay them?

Everyone agrees minimum wage needs an increase. Not everyone agrees on the $15. Has anyone just proposed raising it to a slightly lower level? Like $11-12?

That’s a pretty small benefit up against the shitshow that a $15 minimum wage will create.

I'm with you in spirit, I hate the $15 minimum wage push for so many different reasons that have already been covered ad nauseum. It'll hurt A LOT more than it helps anything.

But as a former server that paid his own way through college on tips, I think it should be pointed out that waiters and waitresses make below minimum wage hourly, and still would after this. There's an exception in place for people who work for tips, they're paid below minimum wage.

For instance when I was waiting tables, the job paid $2.65 an hour everywhere in the region. I think minimum wage was around $7, this wasn't but 15 years ago.

In short - even if this stupid $15 minimum wage shite DOES pass, tip your waiters and waitresses people! That's basically all they're paid on.

Should be a state issue.

The solution is to let the states decide what their minimum wage should be. $15 might work in California and New York, but it won't work in Arkansas and Mississippi. But the idiot leftist progressive central planners in Wash DC want total control. That is just how it is.

C'mon guys the CBO clearly stated it would lift 900,000 working Americans out of poverty.

Just ignore that the same CBO report says it would make 1.4 million Working Americans unemployed.

Manchin is the only democrat that wants less than 15 that I'm aware of.

Wasn't it the CBO that estimated that over 1 million jobs would be lost if the minimum wage was increased to $15?

And that is because when tips are factored in, you're getting minimum wage or better. That's why they are allowed to pay less than minimum wage. So don't act like servers get less than minimum wage. That's simply not true at all. What restaurants have to pay servers is still going to double.

Of course, I was being somewhat facetious. But if opponents of the wage raised this as a point, perhaps even more people in the service industry would come out against it. Warn people that there's a very real chance that tips across the board will decline.

It's all about delaying delaying delaying... in order to find a way to give the peasants as little money as possible..while giving themselves, their allies and other countries as much money as possible.

She does wield power but less than she had a year ago. Only a 8 or 9 seat majority and if history is a guide that majority will evaporate in 20 months. Fingers crossed.

The verbiage in this bill removes the min wage exemption for servers.

They will be paid $15 an hour. No more tips.

Wrong. Minimum wage needs to be abolished entirely.
