If Rogers is not smart enough to run an ad showing NYC pre-Mandami to post-Mandami and simply reminding people that Communism has far greater lasting effects than temporary gas prices, he doesn't deserve to be elected.

I’m not willing to pass the buck downstream. Someone came to Trump with a plan and he greenlit it. Competent leaders, even if they aren’t experts on the subject matter, ask questions or they surround themselves with people that will.
Apparently this was all decided as Trump turned the corner at the 9th hole, because he is so alpha and all, and not a single person asked “what happens if this doesn’t go as planned.”
Not one. And here we are. And we got 2 more years of this Shiite.

For me...the fact oil prices aren't at least 2x higher at this point, with a ME conflict going on, shows me we'll be fine.
Unfortunately there are way to many broke arse cheap skates that can't handle a financial bump in the road. Cause that's all this is. Not a long term permanent goal like the Democrats under Biden proved they wanted.

The author is talking about the price of diesel. Not only is she not wrong, she undervaluing the increase.
Avg Cost of Diesel before war and current:
Week of Feb 23 - $3.81
Week of Sep 21 - $6.53
That’s a 71% increase.
You can both support Trump and be clear eyed about the increase costs since February and the war.

No wonder voters are growing frustrated and pinning the blame on him. After all, a big reason he won in 2024 was his promise to right former President Joe Biden's economic wrongs.
Trump on the campaign trail spoke to the frustrations people had with inflation, gas prices, and general cost of living, but Trump as POTUS has completely disregarded those feelings. All policy debate aside, the tonal shift is the biggest reason for the growing resentment.
